The renters' movement in British Columbia and across the world has faced massive barriers to building power. Part of that problem is the narrative cast by the mainstream media when telling our stories. Especially in Canada, where the propertied elite also control the media & government, renters and their fights for liberation are often degraded or erased entirely. This blog aims to uncover those forgotten and hidden stories about our collective struggle for power. And it is our hope that they may be inspiring for a new generation of activist and organizers. RSB believes that uncovering & learning from these histories is key to the development of new tactics for the fights to come. All in the hopes of seeing a better world in our lifetime.
